My 9 yr. old miniature pincher has been squinting and eye is watering for a few weeks now but today noticed a small brown patch on his eye.His eyes being so dark i have no idea how long its been there.Can you please advise.

Reply to Tammy Falkner's Post: The discharge is just watery...no color and as far as the eyelid it merely looks like hes squinting.eyelid looks normal to me.

This could have a lot of causes. You might be describing a corneal abrasion or corneal ulcer. You might be describing an allergy related issue. The list really is endless.

The only thing that you can do for this at home is flush the eye with saline. Then blot it dry very gently with a clean cloth.

Then see your vet on Monday for a good ocular exam. Eye health is very important at this age.
