This is a medical emergency. You must get him to a qualified Avian vet immediately. There is nothing you can do at home for this terrible accident. Many birds have lost their beaks, either upper or lower, to accidents such as this or because of attacks from larger birds. Most of them have been able to be saved and to go on to lead mostly normal lives. In some cases there is enough of the base left, it can regrow, over time. In other cases, the bird can be put on a soft diet and will do fine. But that's only a couple of the possibilities and that's way down the road. He must have medical attention right now to have the extent of the injury assessed by a professional. Not the least of this, he is in danger of massive infection. YOU MUST GET HIM TO A VET WITHOUT DELAY. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope things will work out for both of you. Patricia
