I have a 12 week old pekingnese that weighs 2 lbs who has a bad case of coccidia. The vet has been treating him with albon for three weeks but the coccidia has not improved at all. The vet told me that for some reason this strain is resistant to the medicine. My puppy's RBC count is low but the diarrhea has ceased and he is eating and drinking well. My vet is supposed to be checking into what other drugs is available to treat puppies his age. What would you suggest. I'm afraid if we don't get this under control soon, he will take a turn for the worse. Thanks!
