Question

7 year old Doberman acting weird

Sent to Pet Experts March 30, 2006 4:42 p.m.

I have a 7 year old neuterd Doberman who for the last 2 nights became very disorientated, (acting "drunk") scared (clung to me like when a thunderstorm is here) couldn't get comfortable. this lasted about 20 minutes the first night, about 45 minutes last night. No known seizures that I've seen. Has been hyperthyroid for all his life and on meds and T4 levels checked every year. I called an emergency clinic (we live in New Hampshire, closest for us is over an hour away) and they said it sounded like an after math of a seizure. Are there any other possibilities of what this could be? Other wise he's very healthy, fit and active. After both episodes, he returned to normal.
Thank you
