My 8 month old Lab/Hound Mix just vommited what looks

Sent to Pet Experts March 28, 2006 12:10 p.m.

My 8 month old Lab/Hound Mix just vommited what looks like stomach bile and also seems to be developing diarhea. His appetites is down and his energy is a little too. The strange thing is he was just at the vet yesterday and was given a clean bill of health (no shot or any meds given at this visit). We have had him for 8 days we rescued him from a shelter but he wasn't living at the shelter he was with a foster family. So I'm not sure why he is devoloping this all of a sudden?

Labs have VERY sensitive stomachs. They are also CHEWERS. Hounds can be a little high strung.
It is very possible the stress of a new environment and the vet visit led up to this.
Give him plain pedialyte instead of water so he does not dehydrate.
Vomiting bile means his stomach is empty.
You can also boil some chicken or hamburger meat -add a little cooked white rice and feed him this bland diet for a few days.
I would just look around and make sure he did not chew and ingest any nonfood items.
Thank you for rescuing this great dog from a shelter and giving him a chance.
The world needs more wonderful people like you!
Please let me know if you have any more questions. I will be very happy to help in any way possible.
