My shih-tzu is 10 and just went in to have xrays of his legs and back. They think he might have a disc problem but not too severe right now. Anyway, the next day after getting him home, I noticed his hearing is extremely bad. He can hear but you have to yell loudly. I took him back to the vet and he said he thinks it will come back in a few days, maybe not 100% but should be quite a bit better then now. Is this a normal situation and is his chances of his hearing coming back really great or am I being mislead. This is very frustrating right now because he is such a perky dog and without the verbal communication from he, he appears to be quite bored. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
