I have a 10 year old cocker spanial who had both eyes removed 4 weeks ago because of glycoma. His red blood cell count has continued dropping since. He is very week and dehydrated. Red blood cell count down to 15 yesterday, was 25 three days ago.The vet informs me that there is no cure, but steriods and transfusion will help him. Is this help temporary? Will he live out a normal life? Or will this just prolong the agony.

Age: 10; Male; Breed: cocker spanial
