Discuss the seizures with your vet and see if the vet wants to put your dog on meds to control them.
Also try keeping a diary about when this happens - for example if it happens monthly when you give your heartworm meds you may want to swap to a different brand and see if that helps.
Same thing with flea meds etc.
You can read about seizures on this site for more ideas

You should notify the breeder as this is an inherited disorder. You may find the breeder doesn't care, as most mixbreeders are just making pups for money and don't care about the owners sorrow if the dog gets sick down the road, but just in case its that rare one with a conscience you should notify them and maybe they will stop breeding those two parents that produced this.
Hope this helps you!

Blood testing varies in costs area to area but you can ask your vet what it will cost before you even go there. Just ask over the phone what bloodwork would be done checking on seizure causes and how much it would run.
www.carecredit.com might help you finance the care so you could do small payments.
Your vet might work with you if you ask too about setting up a payment plan.
Go through the epilepsy site and see what would be ruled in or out with testing.
I think I paid around 60 dollars for the last blood chem panel I had done on a dog but prices vary so much you do have to ask your own vet what it might be.
