My American Eskimo has a skin problem. The vet has previously diagnosed it as a staph skin infection. It is black, brown crusty spots. They are all the way down his back. It has been all over stomach. Also, the hair can be easily pulled out where the infection is. My dog has had these episodes off and on for about 2 years now. The vet prescribes antibotics and it clears up for about a month and it comes back. He has eaten mostly chicken for about a year now because I thought he was allergic to his dog food. What do you think it might be that causes this? Also, what can I put on these sores. He scratches them because of itching. THanks, LindaOptional Information: Age: 5; Male; Breed: American EskimoAlready Tried: Antibotics: clavamox, siniquin, and recently simplicef. It almost cleared up with this

Reply to ZooCVT's Post: The doctor hasn't recommemded any allergy test. I take my dog to the vet every month almost. Also, what other kind of medicine do you think might work besides antibotics. I don't know what to do. Thanks

Well it really depends on whats causing the flareup and a culture and sensitivity or biopsy would tell what antibiotic, that is if its infection, that would take care of it. An allergist would be able to help you further should the biopsy/C&S come up negative. I would have those fisrt things done prior to going for allergy testing though because that will be the first thing they ask for.
