Question

Our golden retriever mix has recently had a loss of ...

Sent to Pet Experts March 08, 2006 3:46 p.m.

Our golden retriever mix has recently had a loss of appetite, weight loss & bleeding from her nose. We took her to our vet and he did a blood test because his thought was either valley fever, or erlicia (sp?). He immediately started her on antiobodics until the results came back. While on the antibodics, she got better, however, still not completely herself. We adopted her from the local humane society so were not completely sure of her age but she is at least 13, perhaps older. The blood tests all came back negative but the doctor said she did have an abnormal thyroid reading that we would deal with when we figured out what was causing the current conditions. Over the course of the past several days, she has become more and more lathargic and her appetite is nonexistent. We also noticed last night that her mild bloody nose is back. We called the vet this morning and he was booked today but would call us
tomorrow. Do you have any ideas what this might be?
