Our 3 yr old male pug could not get up alone last night. Problem was in his hind quarters. Appears to be his left leg. He is better now, but stiff and walking slowly. Please advise.

You can try some aspirin to see if that helps with mobility. Scroll down on this page for cautions and dose info

This could be a knee issue such as a cruciate ligament or it might be a hip or spine problem.
You can see info here on the ligaments

You do need a vet to evaluate him but can probably wait to see your own vet.
I would keep him quiet today. No jumping on or off furniture and no long walks and you might carry him up and down stairs too.
Hope this helps you!

I will give aspirin. What about a warm bath? It is Sunday, so I may not be able to find a vet to see us, unless I go to the city (a good distance from here). Our Pug developed a wart on his neck. Vet told me to put mineral oil on it (last week). Pharmacy advised tea tree oil. I am using this oil twice/day. Could there be a connection between these two problems. Our dog has always had the best of all kinds of care and has never had a problem, until now.

Probably not a correlation between the wart and the rear issue. Mineral oil though certainly is less toxic than tea tree oil is.
A warm bath might relax the muscles in the area but if its a ligament issue won't help much.
I'd talk to your own vet tomorrow about this.
If your pug is overweight at all that could be behind the knee or hip or spine problem. Its a common issue in these little guys.
