my 14 year old miniature poodle has been diagnosed with insulinoma. my quandry is whether to have surgery for her or not. she has been treated with prednisone which has controlled her glucose and insulin levels at normal. Her behavior is normal and this condition was discovered as an incidental finding through testing in preparation for the removal of a skin tumor. I love her very much and want to do the right thing but am confused about the surgical success of such an exploratory surgery vs the trauma and possible side effects of the surgery itself. please HELP.
