Our yellow lab started choking pretty badly and we think it is from stuffing from a toy she just destroyed.
She was doing that lough, croupy cough like she needed to vomit for about 2 minutes.   We jumped in the car at 12:30am, but by the time we got her to the vet she is fine. She's been breathing, drinking, wagging her tail and is now asleep. Do you think we are ok if we just watch her? Could it have passed through? Thank you!

Might have had some stuffing caught in her airway on the vocal cord or tonsila area - think of a hair in your throat for an example.
It should pass through but if you want to help it pass you can add some cooked sweet potato or plain canned pumpkin to her food as that fiber will help push things through with a bulkier softer stool as the fiber holds fluids.
They do make toys with squeakers and no stuffing.
Often they are frisbee shaped - this site had some last time I looked www.petextras.com.
I think you are fine with her just watch for stomach pain, inability to pass stool etc over the next day or so.
Hope this helps you! and that not too many more gray hairs were added during that trip to the vet!

Reply to Nancy Holmes's Post: Thank you. She only made the noise and choking sound a few more times over the weekend and seems fine. She's eating, drinking, playing etc. It seems to happen when she has been sleeping and just wakes up and then she'll kind of "heave" once and then kind of swallows alot like she can't quite get it down. Then she's fine. Typically, will it just pass or do you think we might have to have a vet dislodge the material? Thanks!

I'd watch for it in the stool now. Hopefully it will just pass through no problems. Just make sure she isn't in abdominal pain or having issues defecating that might require vet attention.
And if she keeps seeming like she wants to heave and you see no stuffing coming through in the stool you might try some cat hairball remedy with her to see if that helps her pass it. It could form a 'stuffing ball' like a hairball and not be passing out of the stomach and the Petromalt or Laxatone type hairball remover might help with that.
