enlarged heart

8 -1/2 yr old mix male. 32 lb. house dog. 2 weeks ago, fever off and on, sight diarreah, last week, 2 days ago found enlarged heart.(had not eaten for 2 days)but drinking water and urinating. vet gave him 1/2" nitro paste to start.(started vomiting bile)lasix 12.5mg, amox 125 mg, and enacard 10mg. 1/4" nitro in ear yesterday. other organs fine. my dog seemed to be better yesterday. died this morning. . he got ahold of a steak bone 2 weeks ago which he never has?west nile? small dental infection. what would cause such a sudden thing to happen. 773-750-0869 thank you!
