I have an 11 week old Goldendoodle (golden/poodle mix) that has been very health and active (smart dog too). Over the last few days, however, he's been drinking excessively and, as a result, urinating a lot every 20 min. A urinealysis didn't reveal anything but very dilute urine and we started rationing his water (only allowing him to drink with meals). Somehow, he finds a way to keep making more urine. Even with the reduced intake he still urinates quite frequently and in large amounts; the urine is always very clear w/ almost no odor... like water. The vet wants to do bloodwork and a ton of other tests (radiology, etc....) What are some possible causes for his problems and are all those tests necessary to confirm it? Also, is it common to remove urine directly from the bladder with a needle rather than capturing with a cup for the urinalysis? Thank you! "Nemo" and I appreciate your help.
