10 year old dalmation, loss of appetite, high fever, diagnosed with lyme disease. treated with amoxicillian, brought home from vet, two days later, fever back. Thought bile duct blockage, not it. fever droped, brought home and he was ok. two days later fever back(even after amox given 750 milligrams twice a dayb. back to vet. blood work done at lab,look ok. ultrsound and barium gi test done.cant find anything. water around heart. small blood clots in liver. liver ok. cardiologist says heart ok. he doesnt vomit. no diarea. drinks lots of water latley.not cushings disease. No cancer found. Vet thinks infection of some sort. $3200.00 later, wants to get a peice of his heart and sack and do blood cultures (another $4000.00). alternative is give him steroids to see if fever reduces. Anyone have experience with these symptoms in Dalmations?
