my 11 yr old maltese woke up out of her sleep holding her left paw up she was wobbly and confused for 3 days. the vet felt she had soft tissue injury, i disagree...i feel she shot a clot or had a stroke or had a cardiac event. i don't think a soft tissue injury would wake you out of your sleep and make you confused for three days. xray and lymes were neg. what do you think???

It certainly sounds like vestibular disease. It can be very disorienting. It can even cause stroke-like symptoms like staggering, one sided weakness, facial paralysis, drooling, etc.

This looks a LOT like a stroke but it's a quiet.

I would definitely give the vet a call and see if he wants to put her on a broad spectrum antibiotic like orbax and go from there.

Let me know if you still have questions.

It's a lot like stroke victims who cannot use one side of the body. You usually see it affect one or both limbs on one side.
