I gave my 12 year-old minituare Schnauzer a fourth of a small tranquilizar pill because I was taking her to the city for a week and she usually acts crazy. She has taken these pills before, usually more, and has been OK. Today, she got scared of a large dog coming after her, and I think she was feeling the effect of the pill. She collapsed and was limp and had no heart beat for 30 seconds. After she awoke, coughing, and her arms and legs shaking, she stood up and was OK. And seems to be OK. now. She also has an irregular heartbeat (alittle) that doesn't bother her and a fatty cyst that we had removed 2 years ago has since come back. We saw a vet for that and she said that the dog's healthy and it doesn't hurt or bother her. What does this mean? What is wrong with her? Will she likely have more attacks like this?

Optional Information:
Age: >12; Female; Breed: Miniature Schnauwzer

Already Tried:

How much time do you predict (in your professional opinion and experience) in between these attacks? Like one a month? Thank you for your help I appreciate it.

Also, this is her first, that we know of, of these attacks.

It could be a month between attacks or you could see another within hours. You will usually see them following activity or excitement like when you come home from work or when you feed him a tasty treat.

Reply to Tammy Falkner's Post: It doesn't matter if its her first attack? And she has been very calm and sleeping since it happened. I cannot get her to vet until one week, is that too long?
