My 9 month old Great Dane has a serious diarrhea

My 9 month old Great Dane has a serious diarrhea problem. It started some time last night and I woke up to many large puddles in the house. I just got home from work and it litterally looked like a lake of diarrhea. What can I give him? Should I go to the vet?
