My bichon has a lump on her back...it feels like a tumor

My bichon has a lump on her back...it feels like a tumor under her skin. She has been very low key and we have a vet appointment on Monday....is there anything i can do in the mean time to help her?

Reply to Tammy Falkner's Post: no it doesn't wiggle. it's more like a hard mass. reddish in color about the size of a quarter.

I was going to tell you how lipomas (fatty tumors) are common but now this does not sound like a lipoma. The only thing that you can really do it keep it clean and protected. I would wash it well with peroxide and keep it dry. If he's licking it or is bothered by it, you can slip a t-shirt over his head to prevent it.

Then see your vet on Monday to find out what's going on.

I went to the vet today, and she was diagnosed with a sebaceous cyst, that burst this morning.
