my neice has a 10 week old puppy who has a bad case of the worms and has no way to get to my house at the moment, i can get her to the vet if she could get here, but i have no way to get to her so i was looking for somthing to give her pup until i can get to her!

Optional Information:
Age: <1; Female; Breed: pit bull terr.

Already Tried:
nothing as of yet, but she was sick about a month ago with a swollen belly and i went to the local pet store and they suggested those little white tubes of bacteria for her, it worked, but now i am thinking that might of had somthing to do with her present condition.

I don't believe that there is any home remedie for worms, you should get a fecal exam by a vet to make sure that this is the cause and not any other health issues. You could also purchase strongid t from your vet if you are certain that worms is what is wrong with the pup, the dosage is 1cc per 10lbs of body weight.   This wormer is the best that I have found and is very reasonably priced. If the pups gums are beginning to turn white then you really need to get her to the vet because the whiteness of the gum is due to loss of blood.

The active ingredient in Strongid is available over the counter in very safe wormers such as Nemex, Evict or others that contain Pyrantel Pamoate and it works on hook or round worms.
Its much safer than the other kinds of over the counter wormers.
A wormer that works on hookworms, roundworms and also whipworms that is fairly safe is Fenbendazole which comes from the vet as Panacur or over the counter as Safe-Guard however you really should have vet supervision using this in my opinion

With a big worm infection the pup is likely to vomit some up and have abdominal pain as the worms thrash and die and she may see worms in the stool too. She just needs to be ready for the surprise reactions that go with killing a big worm infection.
Hope this helps you!
