My female German Shepherd was scratching both of her ears and yelpling when she did so. I assumed she had earmites so I treated her for them. She has quit scratching her right ear but keeps on scratching her left ear and will howl when she scratches it. Do you think I should treat the left ear again for earmites as the right ear seems to have stopped bothering her? Is there something homeapathic I can do to treat her? thank you. =-)Optional Information: Age: 1; Female; Breed: German ShepherdAlready Tried: Treating her ear for earmites.. ...

I would suggest having a vet look at, clean out, and maybe culture the ear. The mites could be gone but a yeast infection might now be resident in one ear. Might be the pain is from a weed seed stuck down inside causing an infection.
Often repeat ear issues go along with allergies or thyroid problems too.
Or if you only want home treatments you can see if this will help however its not to be used if the ear drum is punctured so I still suggest vet review of the problem
