I have a 94lb. black lab who was just at the vet on Friday and given a clean bill of health. For the last two days she hasn't gotten off the couch. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, but, she hasn't eaten or drank any water. Any advice would be appreciated.

Optional Information:
Age: 11; Female; Breed: black lab

Already Tried:
coaxing her off the couch, giving her water, trying to give her food

Since she just went to the vet and got a clean bill of health. I would have to say that what you are seeing is the doggy blues. If she had any vaccinations, they sometimes make a dog a little tired for a couple of days. Also the examination, being probed and touched by the vet can make them a little sore, depending on how in depth the examination was. And mentally the whole visit is sometimes a little tiring and depressing to them. Some dogs even think they were punished.

You are doing the best thing. Just love her up. If she like going for a walk with you, take her for a little walk. Buy some ground turkey or ground beef (extra lean) and cook it in some water making a juicy hamburg. When cool add a few tablespoons to her regular food.

If you don't see any changes as the day progresses. Let me know.

Peace,
Christina

Reply to christina tavanian's Post: She did not get any shots and she was fine after I took her to the vet. This didn't start until yesterday, so I don't think it has any thing to do with the vet visit. I have tried to get her to eat and drink water but she just looks at it, like she doesn't know what it is or want it. She hasn't been outside since yesterday and when I went to let her in, she was lying in the middle of the yard, which is very peculiar.
