snorting/vomiting

my Llasa Apso, aged 9, has been violently snorting air through his nose, it also sounds as if there is so much phlem in his throat that he cannot get air and I'm afraid he'll suffocate. He is drooling constantly and vomits a large volume of white slimy foamy material. This has been going on for over a month and we are desperate. Thank you.
