i have miniture schnauzer 16 years old, she had a problem
a few years ago that mimic a stroke then was fine for a long
time. now she seem to lose her balance and slips on hardwood and tile floors, but seems to do good in the
grass and on carpet. But she has started to hold her
head to one side sometimes and she also puts her head
up against the back of the seat when she rides (only when
setting up) like she is tring to balance herself, she did it
when i gave her a bath she leaned up against the wall.
the laid down. she also started walking around in a circle
sometimes. then other times she runs along after me
and when i get home from work she runs around with
out falling.

This sounds like it might be vestibular disease which can be triggered by an ear issue.
You can read about it here
www.marvistavet.com/html/body_vestibular_disease.html
it often seems similar to a stroke in some dogs.
You may want to have the vet check her for possible middle ear infection.
Hope this helps you!
