how much should my 3 yr old jack russell terrior be sleeping?

jack russell terrior sleeps in bed with me all night up to potty at 6:00. I go to work and husband is coming in from work around 8:00am. He cries to go back to bed with my husband until around 3:00 when I get home. Now, we both are here and he is sleeping on couch while we watch tv. While hes awake, he is wagging his tail,playing with us,eats and poops alot. Is he sleeping too much?
