my year old llhasa apso has been crying and agitated

my 5 year old llhasa apso has been crying and agitated, moving from place to place since yesterday. she has been pooping in the house since saturday, mostly hard but this morning regular but the color this morning is mixed green and yellow. i know something is wrong but what? please help me if possible, i am at my wits end. i did call the vet and was told to give her slippery elm, do you agree?
