i have a boston terrier who started losing his hair shorlty

i have a boston terrier who started losing his hair shorlty after his 1st birthday. It began behind the ears and is now losing hair on his chest, back of his legs and now he seems to be losing hair right around his eyes and it's now thinning on top of his head also.   The vet changed his food and I am giving him a omega fatty pill once a day (for the last month) and the vet gave us some tyroid med. to try as he said his tyroid was a little low. So far it doesn't seem to be stopping the loss.   What now? Will he ever regrow the hair? Please help my Murphy!!
