guinea pig has poop the size of a golfball. is this normal?

He poops normal pellets too but lately he poops the size of golfballs. What causes this?

No. This is not normal. If he is not eating a balanced diet, this could be the cause.

I would suggest that you go ahead and see the vet for an exam and to discuss the problem. He might want to recommend a different food that might help, particularly if the cavie is pained by these large bowel movements.

I took his poop to the vet and he wasn't converenced about it but i don't think it's normal he eats a well balanced died and is a healthy pig he poops big like every 3 weeks and doesn't squeal when he poops.

Reply to Tammy Falkner's Post: He eats hay, alpha blocks, dry pellets premium, carrots peeled, celery, romane lettuce and leafy lettuce, Took to vet he wasn't concerened, he won't eat fruit, and he gets bottled water.

It sounds like he is on a great diet. If he seems to be in discomfort with the bowel movements, I would see the vet with him to discuss what's going on. If not, this might just be his pattern and this is ok as long as it is not causing him discomfort.
