Well eating non food items certainly can lead to vomiting but the question is why was she eating that.
Sometimes liver issues can lead to eating strange things as can anemia. It can also go along with intestinal distress due to a food allergy which is fairly common in this breed

Where she is an older girl and has been throwing up for so long you should see a vet as she may need fluids and antinausea meds to control this.
You may want to discuss with your vet the possibility of food allergies showing up or a liver or kidney problem causing the strange eating behavior. Shar Pei are subject to a disease called familial fever. You can read about health issues in the breed here

Hope this helps you!
