Well eating non food items certainly can lead to vomiting but the question is why was she eating that.
Sometimes liver issues can lead to eating strange things as can anemia. It can also go along with intestinal distress due to a food allergy which is fairly common in this breed

Where she is an older girl and has been throwing up for so long you should see a vet as she may need fluids and antinausea meds to control this.
You may want to discuss with your vet the possibility of food allergies showing up or a liver or kidney problem causing the strange eating behavior. Shar Pei are subject to a disease called familial fever. You can read about health issues in the breed here

Hope this helps you!

I am in a financial situation that is making it difficult for me to take her to a vet. She is salivating really bad, it is literally dripping from her mouth. I just took her a few weeks ago for the diarreha and the cost was high. Please don't miss understand, I love my dog and will do what I have to do. Her vet closes in 7 minutes and there is no way for me to get there in that length of time. Any other suggestions and if not, I can call and see if they have an emergency line. Thank You!
