i have a year old west highland terrier with dx copd in

I have a 15 year old West Highland Terrier with dx COPD. In the past few days his abdominal girth has significantly increased, has inc in cough and a 4 lb weight gain. A possible bowel obstruction?

The lung disease may have put a strain on the heart and if the heart function is compromised that might indicate its fluid build up in the abdomen.
The cough goes right along with heart issues and fluid build up.
I'd see the vet as you may find heart meds or diuretics will help.
