Question

my yr old male german shepard has lost a lot of weight

Sent to Pet Experts January 02, 2006 9:12 p.m.

My 7-yr old male German Shepard has lost a lot of weight. (Was 115-120 lbs and now 92 lbs.) He still looks good but I'm not used to seeing him this slendor. He lives indoors and I take him out for a long run at least weekly. The local vet checked him for worms - negative. He is healthy. I used to mix dry food with canned food and added boiled chicken and meat scraps every day. Since I have four other dogs and I retired , that menu changed to dried food only, for them all. The other diet just became too expensive. What can I do to put some of his weight back on?
