my lab appears to be having an allergic reaction to some

My lab appears to be having an allergic reaction to some shrimp she got into. There are 2 spots on her face that seem to be swollen and she is scratching more than normal. It doesn't seem to be bothering her other than that. Is it safe to give her a little Benadryl or is it necessary to take her to the vet? Or is this something that will likely pass on it's own?
