My 5 year old Chessie was diagnosed with lyme disease in July 2005. She was treated with a 30 day cycle of doxycycline. Now December - several of her lymph glands are enlarged, her eyes are extremely blood shot and her appetite is not great, however she does eat and she sleeps a lot. She is a hunter and has an extremely high threshold for pain so when given the chance to hunt - she'll take it! The vet has taken blood and aspirated one of the lymph glands to test for lymphoma. Initial blood work shows no sign of infection and her kidney and liver levels are good. Is is possible the lyme disease is causing the problems with her glands etc.? What would be the recommended treatment if so?

Yes. It is very possible that the Lyme's has affected her in a big way. I would go ahead and return to the vet's office and see if they want to put her on antibiotics for a longer term. Many dogs need 90 days or longer to completely feel better.
