i have a four month old boston terrier in the past few days

I have a four month old boston terrier in the past few days he began vomiting frquently with loose stool, accompinied by a gagging noise. I took him to the vet who had previously put him on a bland diet with directions to have low excitment. Now that he is done with the treatment the symptoms are back and the vet isn't sure what is wrong. Everything else checked out fine with him. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks
