We've had a severe weather change from Cal. to Conn... and she has been slightly congested and a little coughing. Is is possible that she could get a cold from me? She is 16mos. and she is up to date on all of her shots and is due for her next ones in June. Is there anything I can do myself to help her??

She cannot catch it from you but the drastic change in weather certainly could have done it. As long as she is active, eating and drinking then you shouldn't have to worry. You can put her in the bathroom with a hot steamy shower and that may help her congestion and cough. If she quits eating, gets lethargic, gets a colored discharge from her eyes or nose she needs to see a vet as she most likely needs some antibiotics.

BTW- for some strange reason when I asked what she was the optional info. was not showing- I didn't want you to think I don't know what a chihuahua is!

Reply to Joni's Post: Well, I am glad that she can't get sick from me because I have had the same thing but on and off since we moved here and her just recently. Do you think that she may need some kind of decongestion medicine? She is eating and drinking very well.

And that is ok about the other quest. I just signed up.

As small as she is I would be leary about giving her OTC medications. I would try the steam from the shower first. Oh! You can use children's saline nasal drops- that may help her too.
