Sent to Pet Experts December 21, 2005 6:53 p.m.

I have an English Bulldog and his feet in between the web is constantly irritated. Just recently the vet put him on ketoconizole along with malestab spray which we use all the time. I was told that tinactin or gold bond used on humans was good is this true or false?

It sounds like the vet was treating it as a fungus. The tinactin works for yeast infections so it might work on this as well. But you have to keep the dog from licking it. This is hard to do around the feet.

The best way is to slide a baby or child's sock over the foot and tape it loosely at the ankle. This will limit his access and give it time to heal.

Let me know if you still have questions.

Thank you very much for the quick response. Is there any other suggestions on what can help because vinegar and water burn his feet and i just can't seem to get a handle on this to get it under control
Sincerely,
Ashley
