my one year old black lab itches alot, there is red spots on her belly and one ear and she gets bad dandruff. she also sheds uncontrobally. what might be causing it and what should i do to stop it?

First I will ask how long have you had this problem and how long has the dog been itching? Has this just happened? My Lab/Chow was 1 1/2 when we moved into a new house. He started getting red spots similar to ring worm all over his belly and under legs. Also had a yeast infection in one ear from water. He has an allergy to something in the carpet or bedding and we tried everything. We washed with hydro cortizone soap, re washed bedding but to no avail. Took him to the vet and he put him on sterooids for the allergy. We have yet to be able to stop it without the medication. Check with your vet about possible allergies.
