my month old has ringworm we don t know where it came

My 8 month old has ringworm, we don't know where it came from. We have 3 cats, none showing symtoms. But I have found one of our cats frequently laying on ous son's changing table. Can a cat be a carrieir and pass ringworm along. My wife and I do not have any symptoms.
