What can I do to alleviate my Westies scratching, biting, hair pulling out frienzies. His skin is a dark red color and is coivered with bumps and sores where he has dug and dug until he bleeds and still deeps on biting and rubbing on the floor with his face and against the sofa with his back. I know he is allergic to fleas and use frontline for prevention and it seems to work very well, His ears are another problem, as they are chronically infected and full of goo. I use an enzyme cleaner I got from my vet but it doesn't seem to help any more. Mike is around 10 years old and has been my buddy for a loit of bad times and I really wish I could find someone who could help us. Our vet said that as he gets older the allergic reactions will be more frequent and to more and more allergens. This is not a good thing, he also said ther isn't muich that can be done and what can is prihibitally expensive. e-mail to tmccain@fbconnectu.net

Optional Information:
Age: 10; Male; Breed: West Highland Terrier

Already Tried:
Everything from Bemedryl Cremes and Cortazone creams over the counter to wormer from the vet and vet pills and a homeopatheic calming tincture that zonks him out.

Reply to Tammy Falkner's Post: I don't believe you read my question. I told you I used Frontline as flea prevention. He eats Purina Beneful dry dog food. He seems to like the soft red pieces best, and he picks out the hard brown ones that look like little dog bones. His ears are really bothering him right now. Is this an alllergy also?
