can you give a 120lb black lab a over the counter pain medicince like ibupofin?

Already Tried:
nothing as of yet. he has licked an ulcer on his front leg at the joint, he has done this before. I have noticed it is either when he runs hard alot, I'm pretty sure this time it is because of the weather change. It is only in the 20's here.
