my mini pincher beagle cross has had severe swelling around the face and is now having dark red spots in her ears. she is also shaking, but she kind of shakes anyhow. The swelling was worse last night. it has gone down alot. The red spots went away temporaraly but know they are back and worse. Does this sound like allergys or somthing more serious

Optional Information:
Age: 2; Female; Breed: mini pinscher / Beagle

Yes this sounds like serious allergies though potentially it could be an infection too.
What you can try is Benadryl at a dose of 1mg per pound of dog so a 12 pound dog would get 1/2 of a 25mg tablet of plain Benadryl as a dose every 12 hours.
If this makes the swelling go down then its an allergy, next you need to figure out to what!
If you recently gave her a new chew toy you might try picking that up. If she has new treats since just before this happened I'd stop with those. If you live where there are insects still about this time of year it could be a sting or bite.
You should have your vet see her tomorrow.
For the shaking try some Karo or Pancake syrup or sugar water right on her tongue to see if some sugar stops the shakes.
Hope this helps you!
