my vet recommended an ultasound for my yorkshire terrier dog. He is12 years old.he said if they find something they may have to remove the spleen or part of the liver. what is your opinion?

An untrasound is a great diagnostic tool! You can take a look around inside the dog without a risky exploratory surgery. Th pet will be mildly sedated and then they take a look, just like do on a pregnant belly.

I think that this is a great course of action.

The liver is regenerative so it will grow back. The spleen is not a necessary organ. Dogs usually do really well with both surgeries.

Does this help to ease your fears? I know that this can't be an easy choice for you to make.

The ultrasound can be pricey so you might want to look into www.carecredit.com as a source for funding.
