I was wondering if you could help me. I have a 5 yr old Min Pin and she first stopped eating and drinking. Then she passed out so I took her to the emergency clinic where they told me she was anemic and had a low red blood cell count. Since then, she has had blood tests and bone marrow tests which all concluded nothing is wrong except she is not regenerating red blood cells. She is slowly dropping in the RBC level after being on Prednisone and Doxyciclone for 5 days. I am not sure what else to do. Is there anything you could think of that this could be and a way to treat it??

Did the vet give you a diagnosis of Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (or also known as Immune mediated hemolytic anemia)

Has she had x-rays or an ultrasound? She could have a tumor on her spleen that is slowly leaking blood and that could be her reason for not responding to the medicine.
