I have an 11 year old miniature dachtsun. She is 16 lbs and should be 12-13. Can't seem to get weight down. she eats 1/2 cup of senior kibbles twice a day. Any suggestions? She has many small soft lumps on het chest and belly. One is about 1" around. Any ideas what this could be? Customer (name blocked for privacy)@adelphia.net

Optional Information:
Age: 11; Female; Breed: Dachtsun

Already Tried:

You can try substituting some veggies for a part of her daily food. If you normally give 1/2 cup of food make 1/4 of that be grated carrots or string beans instead.
But you also might want to have the vet check her thyroid levels. Low thyroid can cause skin issues and weight gain.
You should have the lumps checked out too as they might merely be fatty tumors or limpomas or they might be something more serious.
Hope this helps you!
