My Rhodesian ridgeback is not eating his dry food for 2-3 days. Will eat pig ear. Drinks a lot of water. Seems complacent.

Optional Information:
Age: 6; Male; Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback

Already Tried:
just keeping food available. He was on walk drinking what I would call clean water and on a golf course that may have geese (night - unsure if he may have eaten anything). Also bitten by about 5 very small ticks in the last 1-2 weeks.

He does not appear uncomfortable at all but he is definately lacking his usual energy - just sleeping most of the day. Extemely unusual for any food to ever stay in his bowl - he usually devours it. He has been out to pee but have not noticed him poo in awhile.

This makes it even more likely that there is an obstruction. I would keep a close eye on him tonight and see the vet if you have concerns but definitely see the vet in the morning, no matter what.

He might have a simple problem like parasites (which can be ruled out with a fecal exam) but you won't know until you see the vet.

Let me know if you need more help!
