my golden retriever just ate one of my socks. will she pass it or should I call our vet?

You need to give your vet a call immediately. There is a good chance that this will cause an obstruction. The vet might tell you how to induce vomiting at home but you do need to get his permission. The fear when you do this at home is that they will choke on it on the way back up.

So, go ahead and give the vet a call.
