If you are going to fly them make sure they are comfortable in a crate long before you leave. Teach them about sleeping in an airline type crate so they are calm.
Its usually better not to sedate a dog for flying as this may depress their breathing leading to death but ask the vet about a mood elevator to help them be calm (vs sleepy).
If you are going to drive them then do the same thing - get them used to a crate to travel in and ask the vet about meds to help them stay calm along the way.
Between now and when you leave practice obedience with them rewarding them for good behavior working on down, sit, come and stay - training helps steady a dog that is nervous by teaching it to follow your leadership and be confident in that good things will happen if they do.
Hope this helps you!
