I have a sheppard that has a small lump that came up on her left hip about two weeks ago, the lump has continued to grow until it is about the size of 1/2 of a grapefruit. It does not seem to be painful because she will lay down on that side, Her appetite is good and she does not appear to have any pain with it.

There could be a few causes for this. The first and most scary is that it's a tumor. It could also be a lipoma (fatty tumor). No matter what, you need to see the vet so that they can aspirate the lump with a fine needle and withdraw some cells. They can then tell you what you are dealing with.

But no matter what, you need to see the vet about this right away.
