Why is she not using the litter box now?

OUR CAT IS 8 MONTHS OLD. WE'VE HAD HER SINCE BIRTH AND SHE HAS ALWAYS USED THE LITTER BOX. IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS SHE HAS STARTED POOPING IN THE LIVING ROOM AND PEEING ON THE THROW RUG IN THE BATHROOM. HER LITTER IS EASY TO GET TO. WE'VE NEVER MOVED IT AND IT IS SCOOPED EVERYOTHER DAY. NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN THE HOUSE. SHE STILL USES IT SOMETIMES. BUT SHE'S GETTING WORSE ABOUT NOT USING IT. SHE IS PLAYFUL AND EATS WELL. SHE ISNT ACTING FUNNY IN ANYOTHER WAY. WHAT CAN I DO?
